current mood: calm
current song: Brinstar Theme - Super Metroid
(Posted here because it has to do with the powers of creation, just like any other art form.)
Lessons learned from creating my own world as a game:
~The death of a planet can be triggered by merely capitalizing a 'y'. I hate syntax f--- ups, always have, always will.
~Anything can be built like a Katamari, but will need to be completely rebuilt in a more organized fashion about 10mb in. In pure html, this limit is as low as around 2kb.
~It may take up to 1,000 words of code to write a 1-line sentence in English, depending on your approach.
~The power to accidentally teleport through and into walls isn't nearly as fun as it sounds.
~Stab me in the back, slit my throat and I will just laugh in your face. Without a death function, I can never die!
~On that note, immortality is boring if the main focus is combat and adventure.
~Furthermore, progress is not being made if all your enemies are immortal too.
More to come as I learn it -- screenies and demos coming soon, maybe even before the summer ends if I stay motivated.
